Rachel and Dave

The married Rachel Madorsky and Dave Buckman weave spontaneous comedy about the foibles and complexities of relationships like a modern-day Stiller and Meara. They met in 2003 at The Second City and today perform two person improv and sketch shows with real characters, love, whimsy and sometimes inappropriate situations.  They can be seen regularly at ColdTowne Theater in Austin, TX where they teach and coach and perform with the award winning improv ensemble, The Frank Mills…. also Dave is from South Jersey!

About the Group:

Dave Buckman grew up in Marlton and Moorestown, NJ and has since directed, taught and performed at some of the world’s leading improvisational comedy institutions where he was fortunate to work with and direct some of the funniest people working in television and web-based sketch comedy today. After several years studying and teaching improv in Chicago, Dave served as Artistic Director of Boom Chicago in Amsterdam for 2 years, He culminated his run in Europe with directing “Boom Chicago: RockStars” the second stage-swap with The Second City’s Main Stage in its 50 year history, After Europe, Dave worked as a director and teacher at The Second City in Chicago and Cleveland, directing Cleveland’s 2003 Main Stage revue, “Who’s yer Baghdadi?”. Since 2005, Dave has been living in Austin, TX with wife and creative partner Rachel Madorsky, teaching and performing with their award-winning troupe The Frank Mills. In Austin he was won two B. Iden Payne awards for Improvisational Theater. He just finished shooting the feature “Cherry Bomb” and the short, “Make-A-Wish”. Google them. He has taught and performed at the Chicago Improv Festival, The Dirty South Improv Festival, The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival and The Black Box Improv Festival. He is also a producer for The Out Of Bounds Comedy Festival, held every Labor Day in beautiful Austin, TX.

Rachel Madorsky, born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio, graduated from the Syracuse University Drama Department in New York and The Eugene O’Neill National Theater Institute in New London, Connecticut. After years of performing and studying acting, Rachel found an improv class and fell in love. She has since trained and performed at some of the country’s foremost comedy institutions including; The Second City, the Annoyance Theater and Comedy Sportz. Additional performance credits include; the independent film F My C (h2o productions), The Sinus Show short Charlie (KXAN 36), Lyrix, 3-2-1 Kill, Stool Pigeon and writing and performing with friend Jill Morris in their two-woman sketch show You’re Fat. Rachel teaches on the faculty of the ColdTowne Conservatory with fiancé Dave Buckman and performs regularly at the Hideout and ColdTowne Theaters with Bob McNichol and Erika May in their award-winning troupe The Frank Mills.
