Claire Halberstadt and Rick Horner of Suggestical (with accompanist Zach Wiseley)

About the Group:

Rick is the Director of Activity Book, one of the first PHIT Resident Groups, which debuted in October 2008.  He is also the founder of the Improv Incubator – a social and creative mixer where people meet weekly to play improv games and perform scenes. Rick is 57% of the Philadelphia-based group Whipsuit!, a comedy-duo that also features PHIT Instructor “Cubby” Altobelli; 50% of duo Horner & Davis; and no more than 1/3 of Suggetical – a Philly improvised musical group.  He is also one of the Producers of Duofest, the producer of F. Harold, and a former producer of the Philadelphia Improv Festival. In addition, Rick has performed short and longform improv with seriously too many other groups to list.  Seriously. When he was not living in Philadelphia, Rick studied at The Second City Training Center in Chicago, and has workshopped with Ari Voukydis from the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater, and the cast of BASSPROV.

Claire Halberstadt graduated from Barnard College in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and Education. She has taken various long-form improv courses and workshops with Philly Improv Theater and studies musical improv at the Magnet Theater in NYC. You can catch her around Philadelphia improvising with Philly Improv Theater house team, Shadowfax, or the hit sensation musical improv trio, Suggestical: An Improvised Musical. She is currently in rehearsals for the world premiere of Hungry: The Musical where she will be originating the role of the villainous alien-plant-monster-queen. In addition to her theatrical pursuits, Claire works full time at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia as a Clinical Research Assistant and is an EEG Neurofeedback Technician with Sadar Psychological and Sports Center. Claire enjoys healthy snacks, polka dots and her original exercise routine, Claerobics.
